Full-Time Instructor, Child & Youth Care Counsellor

Job summary

The School of Health and Community Services at Medicine Hat College is seeking applications for a full-time Instructor in the Child and Youth Care Counsellor diploma program. The successful candidate will also contribute to teaching within the Interdisciplinary Studies curriculum. This appointment will commence on July 1, 2025. Required Qualifications and Skills

Master's degree in CYC or related field preferred. Degree in CYC required. Previous teaching experience preferred.

Required Experience

5 years minimum of direct Child and Youth Care practice. Leadership and/or supervisory positions previously held are an asset. Certification with the Child and Youth Care Association of Alberta. Previous teaching experience in post-secondary is preferred.

Responsibility

Faculty responsibilities include course preparation and instruction, practicum supervision, and active participation in ongoing curriculum and program development. Successful candidates will consistently demonstrate excellence in teaching practices that align with established CYC competencies and theoretical models. We are seeking applicants who are passionate advocates for CYC education and who will serve as strong professional representatives of this dynamic and evolving field.
