Job summary

HomeBridge Youth Society offers an interdisciplinary approach to youth care comprising of six facilities around the metro area as well as Bridges for Learning, an accredited school program. Youth between the ages of 12 and 18 experience therapeutic interventions, support, and opportunities with a focus on evidence-based approaches to stabilization, education and life skills. Required Qualifications and Skills

Completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in the Social Science field OR possess a Diploma in Child and Youth Care or Social Services or other related field A combination of experience, training and education in an alternate field may be considered Experience working in the field of Child & Youth, specifically with youth with complex mental health and/or addictions issues is important. Experience working with youth in a group-caring setting is preferred. Working understanding of current Youth Care Practices Awesome inter-personal, communication and organizational skills An ability to connect with young people who are resistant to developing relationships Teamwork and a desire to have fun at work Valid certification in First Aid/CPR, (ASIST) Suicide Intervention, NVCI Non-Violent Crisis Intervention and Mental Health First Aid are considered assets

Required Experience

Experience working with youth in any capacity particularly teens who are resistant to developing trusting relationships with adults.

Responsibility

The youth reside in our care 24/7/365 so we are fortunate to spend time with them in a variety of settings being with them where they live their lives. Youth Care Workers wear many hats; cook, mediator, housekeeper, video game opponent, chauffeur, baker, advocate, nurse, teacher, musician, artist and caring supportive adults. Shift work including overnights, weekends and holidays is required. No two shifts are the same

Compensation and Benefits Offered

What we can offer you: $21.96 per hour to start- higher rates for part-time and full-time positions Shift premiums offered for nights and weekends ($3.50 per hour) A competitive benefits package is available for eligible employees including paid vacation and sick time, paid statutory holidays, and access to robust medical and dental plan Flexibility in scheduling
