In our 21st century world, racked by instability, wars, genocide, inequality, and self-interest, the notion of goodwill offers a beacon of hope in fostering connections, understanding, and cooperation. Goodwill, characterised by kindness, empathy, and a genuine desire to help others, transcends cultural and geographical boundaries and societal divides. It cultivates a sense of community, belonging, and relationship. Whether it's a neighbour extending a helping hand during tough times or organisations coming together to address challenges, goodwill fosters solidarity and unity with a common sense of purpose.
It is this sense of goodwill that underpins much of what CYC-Net has, and continues to achieve. Our board of governors, who guide CYC-Net; our regular columnists in this journal; our content partners who offer us their content free of charge; our team of reviewers, continually on call, and always and immediately responsive to our needs; to our donors, who continue to value the work of CYC-Net; and so many others, mostly unseen, who give freely of their time and wisdom. All of these inspiring acts of kindness and generosity ripple through CYC-Net and our field, and in so doing, reinforce a culture of giving, compassion and relationship.
Quite simply, CYC-Net would not exist were it not for the goodwill of its many supporters. Goodwiil was the foundation on which CYC-Net was built and goodwill continues to support its growth - enriching our field and contributing to a more compassionate, equitable, and interconnected world and its children and youth.
