This issue on CYC-Online , the 35th since we started almost three years ago, started out as a non-issue – as will become clear. “Let's take a year-end break," we said amongst ourselves, the editors and the regular columnists. But as soon as we said it, we thought “Well maybe not. People have come to expect CYC-Online each month. The Child and Youth Care workers around the world will all be at their posts". So here we are: Issue #35.
Sure, there's a holiday flavour; it's a season of the year when many people around the world, old and young, celebrate a festival of one sort or another. Yet many of the youngsters in our programs don't get to go on a holiday “in fact at this time they may feel more than ever the pain and loneliness of their circumstances.
