Thoughts and Sand

I twist in the darkness
I move in rhythm to the
rolling thunder, I
feel my passions
being swept under.

I run through a field,
the violent breeze rushing
through my soul burning
within me a deep hole.

I sit on a beach
with the sand
rushing through my
hands and I see it
as though it were
my life.

I hear a sound,
a deep hurting
sound and I
realize it is the
true me trying
to be found.

Damned if I do, Damned if I don't

No place to go
but I can't stay here.
Nothing to say
but I can't stay silent.
Nothing to do
but I can't do nothing.

How am I to answer these questions,
When some people tell me
I should do this
and some people tell me
I should do that?

I makes me feel torn between the two
because of the way that people tell me
They make everything sound as though
I'm damned if I do,and I'm damned if I don't.
