Maintaining a professional body?


My question:
What can we do as Child and Youth Workers as a collective to be seen by the human services field and the general public across Canada as  skilled, educated and professional practitioners?

Great question Bethany.  I think once we, if ever, have our own regulating body to belong to will we be recognized as a valued profession.

Join an association and be actively involved in what is often hours of volunteer labor however slowly and steadily these entities are making a difference.   You can find out more at the Conference at the University of Victoria in May this year.   Just check the UVic website for all the details.

Join your provincial association
Speak up and speak out
Don't abandon the profession as you move up the ranks
