I am a coordinator of a program doing great work with at risk moms and children. We offer wrap around support and focus on education, employment opportunities alongside safe housing, daycare subsidy, finical, CYFS- Children’s protection , legal aid, court etc.
I have some money to travel to another site who are offering similar support just as an opportunity to see what others are doing and if we could share our work and to gain new ideas for what we are doing. We are currently exploring some new social enterprise initiatives as well. Does anyone out there know of a site or anyone working at a similar job similar who would be interested in sharing? We are thinking even outside of Canada if need be..:).
Thanks so much.

Congratulations Jeannie.
Sounds like a great program. Families would appreciate the wrap around response and not having to tell their stories so many times. I am in Australia which is a bit far.
Best wishes in your work,

Hi Jeannie,
Have you thought about the Isibindi Projects in South Africa??
There's a great short article written by Jack Phelan in CYC-Online journal, Issue 107 December 2007 (you can find this here – Eds.: https://www.cyc-net.org/CYC-Online /cycol-0712-phelan.html) , giving a brief description of the projects! As well as with many other articles and podcasts. There is fabulous work being done there!
Just a thought :) I guess it would really depend on your budget!
Good luck!
