A MESSAGE FROM THE FOUNDER OF CYC-NET
Hello everyone,
My name is Thom Garfat, and I'm the co-founder of CYC-Net.
Each year, fewer than 1% of CYC-Net individual users choose to support our work through a financial donation. If you are part of this 1%, I want to thank you warmly. If not, I’d ask that you consider becoming a financial supporter now.
CYC-Net is free to the end-user, and I'm grateful that we can use the power of the internet for the greater good of the worldwide Child and Youth Care community. We achieve this as a collection of practitioners seeking to share, and acquire, knowledge.
We're a non-profit. That means we don’t sell the articles that thousands of people read on CYC-Net each day. We don't profit from the knowledge you seek, or that which you share, because we believe that knowledge should be free whenever possible – even though much of the world's digital knowledge is driven by profit.
It is hard to admit that 99% of our readers don't give; they simply look the other way. Sad, but true. When we started CYC-Net, the first decision we took was never to charge a subscription fee. But that doesn't mean we don't need support from our users.
We respectfully ask you for just one donation this year so that CYC-Net may continue to move forward and grow its already substantial offering to the field. Your donation does not need to be large – every donation helps!
